I did the same, my little guy turned 2 Oct 29th. We fly to FL every year for Thanksgiving but I lapped him again for that flight, he was um...almost two

He has his own AA # now for all future flights, we vacation at least twice a year and almost always go to FL for either Thanksgiving or Christmas so he'll always have activity.

I figure that once I get my wife up to lifetime GLD, I'll start accruing all my non-flight miles toward his status and get him up to LT GLD so the whole family will be at least GLD. I just hope they don't discontinue it before we all makes it
