We've got similar problem 3 months ago. Due to emergency surgery our juorney with LH was impossible. Ticket issued by LH. We showed them all medical documentation. We were sure that emergency surgery is a Force majeure (in LH terms thats the reason for full refund), but Lufthansa treated us very unkind. We've got back nothing more than at classic ticket refund.
