My luggage has been deliberately damaged twice this year while flying thorough Johannesburg on Lufthansa. This has not happened on British Airways and South African flights.

The first time I blew it off. The second time I attempted to make a claim, but LH had no one at their baggage counter in Mexico City and the one staff person available in the area refused to assist me. So, I made a complaint to the flight Captain and subsequently wrote to Lufthansa.

LH refused my claim because it was not made and substantiated at the Mexico City airport. They said they will forward my comments to the Mexico City station, but oddly enough said nothing about the Johannesburg station.

What a second rate airline.
