Flight/Origin-Destination; Date; Cabin: These are general comments, not a specific flight.
Status: Super Elite
Pre departure
Was check in quick and efficient? Yes, always, because I use web check-in.
Did you use priority security (if eligible) and if so, was it quick and efficient? Yes. Not always quick and efficient. This is usually a CATSA problem; however, lack of controlled access to priority line is an issue at YYZ and putting elderly, babys and disabled persons in the same line as road warriors doesn't make sense.
Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? MLLs are good. Love the soup. Sometimes some MLL lounges are too busy (during rush hour). Suggestions: restrict cell phones to cell phone rooms (like smoking rooms) and ban children. Some partner lounges are not very nice.
Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? Yes. Sometimes chaotic at gate, but that will not change, because people love to rush the gate and I don't see this as a problem.
If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? Sometimes, but not always. Often they are not informed.
Onboard - J cabin:
Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes, always.
If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? Sometimes, but not always.
Was the IFE activated on the ground? Yes, but I don't care about this because I never watch anything until after take off.
Was a pre-departure beverage offered on the ground? Yes, always.
Did crew offer to hang your jacket? Yes, but I don't care about this - prefer to put my coat in the overhead bin.
Were newspapers & menus distributed and meal orders taken (Please specify when meal orders were taken - on the ground or in the air)? Yes, usually if I want a paper I ask for it when I board. Meal orders are always taken after takeoff. S/E priority ask has improved significantly. Only not had my meal choice once - in the last row of an A320 and the cabin was full of AC staff. But this was an isolated incident.
Did crew offer a hot towel prior to the meal service? Yes, always.
Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service to be completed? (From takeoff to all items collected) Never timed, but faster than it used to be (which I like). I like the quick meals on the overnight flights.
How was the quality of all the meals? OK, but not as good as it used to be. Please bring back ice tea.
Did the cabin crew continiously top up the beverage of your choice throughout the flight? Yes, always.
Onboard - Y cabin:
Were the crew professional & well groomed? See above.
If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? See above.
Was the IFE activated on the ground? See above.
Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service/Onboard cafe to begin?
How was the quality of the meal/Onboard cafe? Average.
Did the cabin crew offer water regularly throughout the flight? Yes.
Post departure
If you have checked baggage, did it arrive within reasonable period of time? No! Long delays at YYZ and priority tags have been hit and miss since the beginning.
Overall experience/any other comments:
In general, I find AC staff on the ground and in the air to be competent and professional. Some could be a little more pleasant, but these are the few. On board, I find the attitude and disposition of the IC seems to set a standard for the crew.
Suggestion re announcement: 1. reduce announcements, especially in the middle of the night. For example, if you have to announce seat belts, just say "seat belts please" not "we have encoutered an area of turbulence and the Captain has illuminated the seat belt sign. We request that you return to your seat and fasten your seat belt until the seat belt sign has been extinguished (sic)." 2. Have annoucements made by the same person in multiple languages. I hate it when my movie is interputed three times, five minutes apart, to hear the same annoucement in different languages. Just do it once and get it over with please.
