I would say the FA did exactly as he/she should have. You know that standard boilerplate we hear on every flight? "FAA regulations require passenger compliance with all lighted signage, ...., and crew member instructions". That's not simply said for the hell of it. You either listen to the FA, or you're in violation, and should be prevented from flying.
