Last year I got it mid month and think I had to fly by the end of the birthday month (Jan). I already had 8000 domestic miles booked so that wasn't appealing.

Delta's arrived today, I don"t recall getting one from them previously. 2500 miles with any new roundtrip booking flown by 2/28. I think I would rather have 10% of an award trip rather than 10% off select fare classes. It is going to take more than 2500 pesos to credit precious segments to DL over Alaska though.
