Wow, thanks for the info. I didn't realize that most airlines certified to IIIb. That makes a lot a sense, though.
On RJs, I talked with an E170 crew in the cockpit and to my surprise it was Cat III (didn't find out a, b, or c) - I don't think those go to SFO though under UX. But the CRJs were all Cat I that I've seen, even the newer ones.
