Did you ask for any compensation? My flight from DTW-DAY cancelled last week due to mechanical problems and I had to overnite in Detroit. There were some rebooking issues as well. I asked for $150 voucher via Delta.com and received it the following day.

No, since I wasn't going to be too inconvenienced by the issue, I saw no need to. My point was that some of the replies in this thread illustrate a great inconsistency in their practices. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when they offer things proactively vs. when they sit and wait for complaints. I got a 1000 mile bonus for a 90 minute delay without asking, but nothing on an much more impacting IROPS cancellation situation. It's like they roll dice to decide what to do sometimes. (I can just see them with their AD&D manuals... Ok, for a Level 5 Cancelled flight, roll 2 D20 to determine bonus miles awarded)
