I think consistency is particularly lacking in competitor's mid and lower end properties (with the exception of Hyatt Place); while overall I find FInn and TPS to be the "same" 95%+ or better. (IMO, CY is a chain in transition, so you need to check the age of the property to see what you will get)

Which is actually important to me, as the low end chains are the ones I tend to frequent for one night, in late/out early personal (road) trips....and do not want to pull up at 11PM to a dump, surly service, or a lost res.

Lately, I have also found that Marriott low end properties offered far better rates than Hampton Inn, HIExpress, and certainly Hyatt Place..but of course, this just could be the areas I have needed! (or the fact that I can work the Marriott system better for discounts )
