Toronto to Las Vegas in Exec cabin

Flight/Origin-Destination: AC 556 Toronto to Las Vegas on an Airbus 319.
Date: 23 December 2010
Cabin: J
Status: None, just basic AE

Pre departure
Was check in quick and efficient?

Yes, I used on-line, and when I arrived at T1 there was a large crowd to check bags. There was an AC person monitoring the queue, and when she saw I was in the exec cabin took me over to the next agent ahead of everyone else, and my one bag was given the red priority tag.

Did you use priority security (if eligible) and if so, was it quick and efficient?

Yes. Very few people in security so I was processed in a few minutes.

Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks?

Yes. Nothing new in the transborder lounge. I had the soup and salad along with my gin and tonic.

Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient?
If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates?

Not really good here. Lots of people and those with children, E and SE called but no J. I went up anyway and was boarded quickly.

Onboard - J cabin:
Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes.

If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates?

We departed 30 minutes late, no explanation given.

Was the IFE activated on the ground? Not sure, I never use IFE.

Was a pre-departure beverage offered on the ground? Yes, water and orange juice.

Did crew offer to hang your jacket? Yes. Both my suit jacket and my winter coat.

Were newspapers & menus distributed and meal orders taken (Please specify when meal orders were taken - on the ground or in the air)?

Newspapers and menu distributed on the ground. (New menus, nicely printed on heavy paper). Meal orders taken in the air.

Did crew offer a hot towel prior to the meal service? Yes.

Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service to be completed? (From takeoff to all items collected)

About two hours.

How was the quality of all the meals?

Very good. I had a tasty Pan-fried breast of chicken. The dessert was strawberry cheesecake that was merely ok.

Did the cabin crew continuously top up the beverage of your choice throughout the flight?

Yes, my FA was particularly good in this regard. All J cabin seats were occupied.

Post departure
If you have checked baggage, did it arrive within reasonable period of time?

Priority tagging worked as I had my bag within minutes of arriving in LAS

Overall experience/any other comments

An excellent flight with first-rate on board services
