They couldn’t clear the cars fast enough. No Honors check in - had to stand in line a long time. Finally got to the room. Hotel was alive with the “Who Dat” nation. Went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse in hotel lobby for dinner. So many fans from both sides had to sit in the bar. Same food / and $$$’s! Enjoyed a great dinner and had just ordered coffee when a hotel manager came through the bar asking everyone if they drove a “red car”. I responded yes and he said, “you best get out to the entrance way quick, they are about to tow your car”. I said – ... – I had a valet receipt and tipped “X” – I actually named the employee. The manager asked me if I was staying in the hotel. I replied yes and I was a Diamond member currently and have been for the past several years. The manager stopped and asked me to repeat myself about having a valet receipt. I did and he said to come with him. He took me into the Valet hut and told the group there I had a receipt and they said – “no way the car has been abandoned and it is about to be towed.” I told the manager – stay there for 5 minutes. I ran to the room – grabbed the valet tag and back to the hut. The valet personnel were still indicating they did not have the keys and I would have to pay for a locksmith as the car had to be moved immediately. It was now 6 pm and the car had been sitting since 3 pm. I wasn’t getting anywhere with the valet management so I went inside and asked for the hotel manager. None could be found. I went back to my dinner – the coffee was cold and my dining partner was wondering what was going on. The bill came it was for $480 dollars. I thought I was going to stroke out. First they lose my car keys, threaten to tow my car, make demands that I pay for a locksmith and now present me an outrageous dinner bill. My waitress had just left (who changes shifts at 6:30 pm?) – so it was a complete hassle to get a dining room manager to understand that two people did not consume the quantity of food and drinks listed. I finally got the bill reduced to the correct amount. Oh and yes, it’s now 1 am and my car keys still have not been found. I even spent time in the hut looking through all the keys that were still in a pile. My question – what is an appropriate service recovery to ask for (ie how many points)?
I've had recent issues with this property as well. Stayed in late November and had issues that were resolved with a promised upgrade on a stay at the same property in December.
Returned in December to find that my upgrade, which was confirmed in my profile prior to check-in, was yanked at the last minute.
I also had issues with the valet during my December stay. All of this combined netted me one night off my bill in December, 30,000 points and a gift certificate for one night there in the future... Doubt I will use it.
I now avoid this property and prefer to stay at the Hilton Atlanta on Courtland Street.
