I have a AC itinerary where i'm going hkg-yyz-las

I will have one checked luggage, and was wondering if it's possible to short-check my luggage to yyz, before boarding my flight to las.

I'm visiting some manufacturer's in Hong Kong/China and will have some prototypes/samples that won't fit in my carry-on that I'm looking at dropping off to my colleague who will meet me in the non-sterile area of YYZ before I head onto my yyz-las flight.

I've been reading that UA doesn't allow short-checking, how about AC?
