I think the most info on BA benefits is probably found on the BA forum.
You can get AA miles on BA flights, and you can redeem miles on BA flights.... and vice versa
It is up to you to compare the feature of both, and your travel habits.
AA awards do not incur fuel surcharges, do BA awards on AA flight charge it?
