Travelling with family is quite stressful. On a long itinerary like that you're almost certain to suffer from something: delays/cancellation/weather/strikes/lost bags/seat shifters or worst of all being offloaded by the stinking "conformance" jobsworths.
Perhaps pick one or two desinations and concentrate more on what you will do when you get there, than the inside of the plane.
Perhaps in one direction check buy miles, household accounts and one- way cash plus miles on BD
