There was a later flight to PIT, but I told the agent I'd need to be put in a hotel there before continuing onward on a confirmed PIT-XXX-ATL as per my original itinerary. It is apparently a cluster departing IAD on the 24th, so that didn't seem hopeful. At this point, I explained exactly what I needed ("I need to get 3 segments before getting to ATL by 5PM") and the GA was kind enough to arrange for me to continue onto MKE this evening, hop back to ORD in the morning, and continue onto ATL. I even told the GA that as long as I was booked in F or full Y, I wouldn't necessarily need all 3 segments, but he helped me out anyway with this bonus. Additionally, I gain a segment here because of the PIT-IAD-ATL through flight.
