I stayed at the St Regis a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a really nice hotel. It's not really in the centre of the action, but it's easy to get around by cab in Shanghai and not expensive.

Just for information (in case you are paying more), they have a great rate of US$ 14o including breakfast at the moment.
