re the hot weather - we can only go in UK summer or UK winter and I've been told NZ is too cold in our Summer so if this is right I'd rather put up with the heat!

re HK. Yes, have been before and would like to stop by briefly again, but I take the point on not losing time in Australia so may forego HK on this trip.

I'm beginning to think we're trying to squeeze too much into one trip.

Is there any wisdom about the benefit of doing a round the world heading west rather than east - does it make any difference to the jet lag?
