I was at the Grand Hotel Via Veneto this September, was a great experience. Good location right next to the Westin, much quieter and less hectic. Seemed to be popular with "important" Italians. The suite I was given was very large with a great bathroom. I choose this hotel for its modern art deco design and recent refit, everything was very nicely finished and in very good condition. The lobby and public areas had a very nice original art display as well.

If so, there are but 2 options - Hotel de Russie or Portrait Suites. Everything else, in my experience, has you re-scheduling your flights to leave early.
Funny you mention leaving early, I was scheduled for 5 nights in Rome, but after 4 nights we did indeed flee to Tuscany to the Locanda dell'Amorosa in Sinalunga, couldn't cope with mayhem that is Rome.
