Been tight on cash this year, am going from 1K to 1P, etc. etc.

Looking for a silver lining? Would love to grab a voucher for being bumped.

I'm flying SFO <-> ORD <-> LGA on Dec 28th, a day after the snowstorm out east, but I really don't need to be in NYC until the 30th.

Any suggestions on the best ways to give up my seat for a later flight to some poor soul stuck due to the snowstorm? I know I can volunteer when I check-in, but maybe I can do more / something beforehand?
