Don't get it like a arguing! I'm collecting information. It's really unpleasant to learn the things on the hard way - by paying extra $3100 .
It would help US if you can tell us the routing ... eg CDG-xxx , date of travel and approximate fare paid...
For many international tickets, the date change is permitted on certain fares , sometimes with a fee, sometimes not.
In the days of paper tickets, a date change is simple and usually no fee is collected. But in the days of e-tickets, it is impossible to get away without paying a fee.
