Basically im looking for IAH -> CDG -> BOM which is flown daily. I can find IAH -> CDG for 100k miles no problem and then CDG -> BOM for 80k miles also with no problem but they just do NOT show up in the same search, I tried all combinations, even tried to break it down with MULTI CITY search. When I asked the rep to break it down and book the first leg, then add on the second, it will 'NOT ALLOW' an amended reservation of this type apparently. Anyone know why delta is not allowing this anymore? Did they lose too much money selling this award fare for 120k miles? I dont even mind paying more miles but its just not offered anymore. The only other option I am seeing is to go via AMS on delta for more than twice the miles, and have to deal with the crappy delta planes. Please HELP!
It is simply, singly, and completely because the award calendar is bad. Once DL improves the award calendar by the end of 2010, all problems will be solved. Then the hyperinflation in the SkyMiles program will be a thing of the past, just as in Turkey and Zimbabwe. Stay tuned. You're the reason DL flies.
By the way, I just looked at IAH-BOM in March (for example) in CO OnePass. Over 50% of the days have award J availability in March for 120K miles.
