I can see an advantage to each person having their own account if each person has a Marriott credit card to go with the respective rewards account since promos are offered by the credit card company. For example, last year Visa offered a free night if $500.00 per month was spent for three consecutive months. Other people on Ft got different amounts to be spent. Mr b1513 and I both got the offer and took advantage of the promos so, all in all, we got 4 free nights because the promo was offered to us twice.

If you travel a lot and you have hit the maximum bonus points allowed for a particular promo then you could switch and your wife could start receiving the bonus points.

That being said, it's better to rack up the stays/ nights on one account rather than splitting them between two accounts especially since she never travels alone.
