this is what I alluded to in my post above. It could be he speaks Hebrew and thusly why hes always on it or has the seniority to do it
Back in TWAs days I knew 1 FA guy that did 2 1/2 - 3 trips per week, he not only needed the money but it allowed him to get his work load done w/o having to do 1000 segments a month. He did always picked up the work if someone else wasnt able to do it. He would even do MRs (work wise) land in TLV and be working the flight back to JFK that night
these very long flights allow a person to knoch off their work load alot faster each month and thusly if they chose can hold down a 2nd job or have alot of free time for the family or to pick up extra $$ by working other flights that the other FAs wont be able to. Most carriers have some crew members that have it worked it sort of like a Time Share thing where crew members put down what they want to trade for or cant work for wanted reason and others pick up those flights, no one takes them guess theyw ill be working them or using some sick time to get the time off. So it works out great for those who for what reason dont want to work and for those who want to work more
