Now that the "energy" fees are going away, the phone fees are back to being the #1 differentiator between a "I will be back there stay" and a bad experience driving you away.

Not true. Cellphone usage has replaced 800-# calling cards. I think it has more to do with the fact that too few customers sucking up the charge without complaining about it.


IMHO, the FCC fell asleep at the wheel -- 800# should be mandated to be toll-free from everywhere, not just payphones.
