just arrived at the lounge in singapore to be informed that tonight's flight to auckland is being operated by a non retrofitted 777 300 on a 2 3 2 config with non lie flat seats. sounds appalling for an overnight flight

I would guess i have no recourse here for compensation? I suppose they can substitute whatever plane they want but it wont make me fly sq again in a hurry!
I would be upset too, but you must realize that last-minute equipment changes happen at pretty much every airline. Of course you would expect SQ to be better, but if they had no other aircraft available, operating the flight with an old aircraft is certainly better than canceling the flight.
