So, William, just for the purpose of general clarification (and out of personal curiousity) - a hotel can add any additional surcharges they see fit, like the "maid fee" (after all, more creative suggestions like "bed fee", "room key fee" -- things that also are usually included in a room rate -- were proposed by

If this is not the case - how far can a hotel go in the ridiculous charges department before Starwood intervenes? I've never stayed in a hotel where I've had to pay extra for the maid to clean my room, and I think that was the original furustration of
