I am writing this post at 2330gmt on 22 Dec:

I was booked on TG917 LHR-BKK on Sun 19 Dec. Flight obviously cancelled, although had been able to check in online. Once confirmed flight was cancelled I tried to call the TG UK numbers with no joy. I reverted to calling TG in BKK (20min wait) and was eventually waitlisted for TG917 on Tue 21.

On 21st and 22nd Dec I tried so many times to get through to TG UK and all numbers engaged and therefore reverted to calling BKK again (another 20-25min wait) but they could not give me any sensible joined up information.

In the I end went to TG's London office in Abermale street where I spoke to a very very indifferent TG agent who told me he could waitlist me for the 24th or confirm me for the 31st Dec. When asked, he informed me that my *A status (TG Sliver and LH Gold) meant nothing in terms of sifting waitlist priority!!!!

I asked about a reroute via ZHR or FRA or anywhere else in Europe with available seats and was told that I could have a confirmed seat, but only if I made my way to either of these cities under my own steam / cost. As I am a LH SEN I managed to get a LH one way seat to FRA ex LCY for earlier today to connect with TG. Cost : 388GBP for full Y class!!!

I called TG BKK at 4am this morning UK time (22 Dec: 25min wait) and was told my wait list on Dec 24's TG911 was now confirmed. So I canx LH to wait till 24th and save 388 GBP.

Now at 2330gmt I see from the Suvarnabhumi Airport website that the outgoing TG910 to LHR has not departed BKK. Have just tried again and been on hold for 30mins until I just gave up. No one answering the UK numbers.

( BTW: Where do you guys get your information about flight movements?)

I have been living in BKK for 2 years now and fly TG a lot and love the service etc., but the trust I have built up in the airline has been dented by this experience of appalling lack of customer service and the terrible flow of information via the website. I just pity the poor pax at LHR. I guess that the apparent cancellation of the incoming TG910 will have an additional knock on affect. I doubt I will get out before Christmas day!

I am lucky as I have nothing to be back in BKK for urgently - just want to leave this dreadful weather behind me and after 3 weeks on the road to sleep in my own bed as opposed to kipping on a friends sofa and hopefully not annoying him in the process by my lingering presence.

Please..... if fellow FTers have any info on ongoing TG flights ex LHR I will be checking the boards regularly and would be grateful for any word.
