I did not know SU operated IL6 transatlantic. Was it one of the infamous flights via SNN?
It was actualy on CSA with no tech stops.

I would compare the IL6 more to the 707/DC8. My favorite parts were alwaus watching them go to the back with the plastic hose to manualy rebalance the fuel after take off.

I agree that the IL9 is of a different generation especialy with the Western engines.
