Agree with you on SYD, and to an extent SIN, but the walk to the gate can be lengthy.

Can't say I've ever experienced a quiet DXB!


MAN EK Lounge, friendly staff, good selection of drinks, wines, spirits and champagne. Hot and cold food available. Showers too. Also a nice view of the apron and runway. Downside is the walk to the gate.
