Sheraton Long Island in Smithtown, NY is also somewhat seedy. The lobby and the exterior have been renovated, but that's about it. The central heating isn't turned on until October, so on cold nights in September, it's real tough to stay warm there.

You have to go down a set of stairs to get to the elevator from the lobby (weird).

When I was staying there last time, they did not have the breakfast buffet advertised. The server said they didn't have enough guests staying there. My response to him was "why am I paying big bucks to stay at a full service hotel then??"

I had them do my laundry and they forgot to send it out in the morning. So instead, they had the staff at the hotel wash my clothes in the hotel machine. They completely ruined my colored fabrics by washing them with chlorine bleach. Manager said she would reimburse me, but she never did.

Only reason I stayed there was to get nights in for the Free Friday promo. I should have called Starwood, but since this stay was in September, 2000, I doubt they'd do anything for me now.
