I was wondering if anyone knows if we can use United points for Singapore Airlines? If yes, are they 1:1 ratio?

Also, are there any restrictions on points type (mileage gain my flying, bonus mileage, choice mileage, etc) that we can use?

Which specifies the amount of mileage for travelling. Is this United only or the same for other Star Alliance partners? If I assume correctly, this would be the round trip fare, correct?
