I've tried to read as many posts as I could before making my first post but havent really found an answer to my delima.

Im looking to book a flight to Hawaii in Sept and as of right now its $925.00 or 80K miles per ticket. I have 45K miles and my wife has 35K, if I transfer her miles to my account I will able to get one ticket but it will cost $525.00 to transfer the miles.

Does it make sense to spend the 525.00 to transfer miles to save an additional 400.00 on a flight? Im not sure what the going opinion on paying to transfer miles is. Plus right now you get 20% bonus miles when transfering miles.

Just for further info, we dont fly much. Maybe once every 3-4 years. I got a One pass Mastercard for the inital bonus miles to boost my miles and for the free baggage. After our sept trip I plan on canceling the card as the yearly fee will out way any baggage fee I'd pay over the next few years.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
