I am making a transfer at ORD right now. Since I got those cheap filmsy boarding passes at the origin, I tried to reprint the boarding passes in cardboard paper here at ORD. I tried three kiosks, and all of them gave me an error telling me to contact an agent. I have two hours until my departure, so it could not be a check-in deadline issue. Has UA blocked reprinting boarding pass function at kiosk? Other than using mobile check-in, everything I did have done today is just as usual.
IME, this happens if:
- Kiosk is out of paper (most likely)
- Flight is under gate control.
I just printed a bunch last week, and it took the 3rd kiosk to actually have the paper.
