Why not do a train? More reliable as roads aren't quite the factor. Train ride from FRA to DUS is can be as easy as 1 transfer and take 2 hours.
I´ve already booked the ICE, but it seems taking the train may be a nightmare in the coming days, so I was just wondering whether anyone had any personal experience.
For instance, a refundable train ticket on the ICE is about 70€/120€ in Coach/First Class (and I´m pretty sure Coach Class would be hell in the coming days), if I ran into another pax heading in the same direction, it may be more convenient to take a taxi (especially as I have a bunch of luggage).
I´ve usually been able to negotiate a 30%-40% discount if I go to back of a long line and tell the driver I won´t need a receipt, but I don´t have any experience with such a long ride.
