Interesting -- I once stayed at the IC Milwaukee, and we had the fire alarm go off as well. Fortunately, it was early evening, and we were just heading out anyway.
Regarding the topic:
Worst stay would have to be the O'Hare Hilton. About 3 am I was awoken by the guy next door, who had his TV on at a volume that was loud enough for his family back home to hear. Might have just gotten off a late-night flight, as he seemed totally oblivious to the fact that it was 3 am.
Best stay would be the Mandarin Oriental Singapore. Went for our 20th anniversary and had a lovely room with club lounge access. Great room, great service - everything was perfect.
