The question is not whether you have to exit and re-enter ATL upon arrival from CDG. The ATL arrivals procedure will be the same in either case.

Rather, the issue is whether you are legally protected in the event of a misconnect. With a single ticket, if your CDG-ATL flight is late, DL will accommodate you on the next available flight without question. If however your ATL-MCO is a separate ticket, then you have to rebook that ticket, plus change fee, if you misconnect. Same problem (hopefully less likely) on the outbound side - if your MCO-ATL is late for any reason and you miss ATL-CDG, then you have to rebook yourself and are subject to change fees and whatever fare might be available.

Or so I understand....
