Just so I'm sure I understand the real ramifications here... if I choose not to pay the change fee to add the MCO-ATL portion of the trip to the Award itin, will I have to exit security in ATL, then re-enter after checking in at a Delta desk? Are there any air-side options for doing this?

I'd rather not pay the $150 if all I'm avoiding is a minor inconvenience.
