Ate at Virgil's last night on W. 44th Street. It was packed, of course it being a Friday night during the Christmas season in NYC, so we waited about 40 minutes. Haven't been there in a while but I do remember liking the food.
The BBQ nachos were delicious. I'd never had those before and they were well worth the price. But the two meat platter I ordered, consisting of ribs and brisket, was incredibly dry and the ribs were overcooked. Very disappointing.
My son had the link and he said that was pretty good. My wife had a pulled pork/chicken sandwich and she thought that was good. But my ribs being overcooked and the brisket being so dry was an extreme disappointment.
I know not to expect "real" BBQ in NYC, but I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. Especially since I'd eaten there before and I thought the food was decent. Oh well. Live and learn.
Interesting as the brisket I used to have there was fairly good. Good to know that it's gone downhill. This makes me want to make the trek upto Dinosaur!
Cheers
