Shareholder, my guess (and that's all it is at this point) is that this is a holdover from the ITT Sheraton days where they used to show how many points you had earned at the bottom of the folio. I am not familiar if any Westin properties did this prior to the the merger or if any have since added it, but Globehopper is right when he says that it's what is in your account that counts. I have found these messages to be an estimate of possible Starpoints earnings at best. They are provided by some hotels in an attempt to let you know what your earnings may be in advance of your departure so any misunderstandings may be smoothed over before you leave. It is possible that not all hotels have this feature built-in to their database, so you see it at some but not all Starwood properties.
