Starpoints indicated on bottom of hotel bill/folio

This falls into the category or an Andy Rooney post, so here goes: Have you ever noticed that on the final bill on some of your Starwood stays, there is a line which tells you exactly how many Starpoints you have earned on that stay. Well, it reads something like "You may have earned XXX Starpoints on this stay." Wonder why it appears on some, but not all, check-out folios?

This weekend, I had it show on my FOUR POINTS downtown Portland, but on this morning's WESTIN PORTLAND, it doesn't. Last weekend, it showed on my W SEATTLE folio, and for all my stays at a FOUR POINTS, WESTIN and SHERATON in the Ottawa area two week's ago.

Maybe William could explain this?
