I really fail to understand why someone would want the need to go through transit, get a security pass just to shower and relax and later go back down to the arrival level considering the pax will be arriving from a F flight, have access to the arrival lounge to do that showering and relaxing and will still have the opportunity prior to the BKK flight to enjoy the F section of the Wing and/or Pier.
For someone who have access to the arrival lounge, the cabanas IMO aren't worth the transit, security pass, back to arrival hall procedure when you will have access to it later anyways for the connecting flight.
Our differences, even those we can't understand, help keep the world interesting. And as I've said, I sometimes make things complicated.
My wife and I might end up going straight out to the arrivals lounge, as you suggest. But if we're nevertheless still tired after the trip (such as if one or both of us doesn't sleep well or spends too much time watching movies), the weather is lousy and/or we don't want to head into Hong Kong too early, we may take the extra time to get rejuvenated in the Wing cabanas.
Actually, I can think of yet another reason to repair to the cabanas and get rejuvenated, but that probably won't be part of our equation upon arrival.
