I'll be spending a weekend in Chicago last weekend of June. Having read about the W hotels, I've considered giving the W Chicago City Center a try.

At http://www.whotels.com/cities/ch_citycenter/index.html the information says "Opening June 2001". I know it is the old Midland Hotel Chicago http://www.midlandhotelchicago.com but it is unclear when, exactly, the hotel will change into a W, as the Midland Hotel istelf says: "3rd Quarter, 2001 - W Brand roll-out "W Chicago City Center"" ( http://www.midlandhotelchicago.com/renov.html )

Does anyone have information on this or recommendations on alternative, central Starwood options in Chicago? (I also have some Hilton points to spend as a "backup").
