OK a little bit of fun here. The worst
amenity I ever received (other than not
getting one at all) was at the H*l*d*y Inn
in West Virginia. I was told by the front
desk that I had the nicest room in the Inn
and a very nice welcome amenity. When I
arrived in the room a small basket was
present with those brown cheese/orange
crackers packed, a turning brown apple, a
orange with no label, a coupon (just printed
and cut crooked) for a .50 discount on a
drink at the bar and 2-1 breakfest coupon.
All of these items were on a white paper
napkin. When I picked up the napkin there
were lots of cracker crumbs on the bottom of
the basket. Someone was eating those
crackers. Thank goodness for Starwood and
Hyatt. The Inn was the best hotel in town.
That was my younger business travel days.
