That probably explains it, I did not eat there or go to the bar. I used the EL for a few drinks and ate locally at night.
I have stayed
a lot (always alone) at the Islington over the last 15 months as it was convenient for a work project nearby ... and had a "neice"* stay for a few nights earlier this year whilst she was visiting London from overseas and I took her for dinner/theatre each night. She had her own room - but i still got some curious looks from the staff when we returned each night and headed up in the lift. They by then had got used greeting me by name, but were being very discreet as the "neice" is over 30 years my junior.
*she is the daughter of my wife's cousin - but it was easier to say neice.
