Beckles, the 'K' refers to a king bed and 'KN' means there is a king bed with a pull-out sofa (usually double-sized).

MileKing, I can't stress enough that we do not confirm room types on Preferred (free) Night Awards or any other free room - either for bedding (except to provide it sufficient to the number of people in the room) or for smoking preference or for location. It is okay to let the hotel know what your preferences are, however. Calling us or contacting the hotel directly to do this is fine as long as everyone understands that these are preferences and not confirmed until you actually check-in.

jetsethotel, "run of the house" does mean the best standard room available at check-in, but it does not include suites. The difference is to allow the hotel to decide which rooms are "run of the house" and not to disappoint any members who may have been expecting something else.
