Also for future reference, it is really helpful if you tell us your seat numbers on the inbound flight. It can make a big difference. We took this AA flight to PVG a couple of months ago, and there were 4 immigration officers working the "non-Chinese" lines. Almost everybody on the plane was non-chinese, so it made a real difference if you got there first or last. We were in business, so we had about a 5 minute wait, but those seated in the tail would have had about an hour wait to get through immigration (and for them, checked baggage would not have made a difference).
