When I talk to people about visiting Asia every so often I'll talk to someone who wants to visit Asia but they are intiminated about the language, food, transportation, etc. I'll always recommend to them that they visit Hong Kong as a first introduction to Asia as it is very easy to get around, signs are in english, the underground system is very simple and you can eat just about anything you want, local or home style. Plan your trip, where to stay, what to do, etc. and you will have a fantastic time!
