IMHO, I would wait. They used to have 10K with initial sign-up and something like additional 15K points if you spent 15K dollars in 6 months (?). Obviously the one in July was the best (30K after spending only $1K dollars). Granted I'm a newbie to SPG, but I've never seen a deal like the one in July before.
