Why change the name? If it is marketed as a resort and spa for virtually the whole year, then it is a resort and spa even if that part is closed for a few days. Not defending the closure, but it certainly doesn't mean it needs a name change.
As for the change of photos and content, that will just be a normal update they had planned. The complaint of one person and a couple of comments on Flyertalk isn't going to cause that kind of change. Otherwise every time there was a promotion we'd have it changed to something 'better' within hours every time
