I don't want to start a separate thread and hope it's ok (mods, feel free to chime in) to ask for FlyerTalkers' favorite dining spots here, since we'll be staying at MO Barcelona for NYE and will have a week to roam/eat around.
For me, Barcelona is only second to New York as the culinary capital of the world. The access to superb fresh produce such in ways of seafood, olives and lifestock makes the city a real joy to dine in even down to a small barri gothic hole-in-the-wall.
Cal Pep is probably one of the more renowned and innovative tapas places in Barcelona. Their head chef is a real character and the direct insight to the kitchen makes this all the more apparent.
Evo is a 1* Michelin Guide restaurants were I have had one of the best meals of my life (more so than on the >1* I've visited) in the shape of their degustation menu. The view is also undoubtedly one of the best in the city. Only problem is that it's a bit far out in the convention area.
One of the best mixed Dry Martini's I've had in my life I had at
Dry Martini (And I've had lots and lots of Dry Martini's in my life). A very classy place were the focus is on gin and a few other select drink. They also have a great selection of Frappés that they call "The evolution of the Martini". These are more novelity style drinks but definitely very exciting in their own mind.
